“Wildlife Series”
Many artists paint animals and I am no exception. Recently I met two wonderful people outside Eureka Springs who provide refuge for large cats and other animals. Scott and Tanya Smith have created a safe haven for abused and unwanted tigers, lions, leopards, lynx, bears, and many other animals over the years at Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge. Their sincere and selfless efforts toward building and maintaining the refuge has inspired me to join the cause and paint the large cats, donating a portion of the proceeds to the refuge.
I plan to spend more time this summer as a featured artist there while trying to capture the essence of the cat’s personalities and majestic beauty. Several of my paintings including originals and some pen & ink drawings are located in the gift shop at the refuge and also at their downtown Eureka Springs gift shop. Make plans to visit the refuge and over 150 animals for whom the Smiths, several interns, public and private donors care for and facilitate year round.
